Hello All,
This morning the band followed the typical late October doldrum pattern as sunrise enhancement didn't really enhance anything. At 1305 (in total darkness) some Asiatic big gun signals were doing OK, but it was all downhill from there-- without even 738-Tahiti showing up as a consolation prize. Best audio during the lackluster session was from the two Korean big guns on 972 and 1053, as the Japanese stayed down in the noise. Poor audio in and out from 1566-HLAZ and 1575-VOA rounded out the mediocre morning, with all the TP's taking a collective swoon around 1345. The fact that Richard, Bill and Dennis didn't seem to do much better receiving TP's this morning makes the dreary session seem a little easier to tolerate-- maybe misery likes company?
972 HLCA Dangjin, S. Korea Fair-good Korean YL speech at 1305
1053 Korean Jammer Good throbbing buzz at 1311
1566 HLAZ Jeju, S. Korea Poor Japanese OM audio in and out
at 1308; very unstable signal
1575 VOA Ban Rassom, Thailand Poor Asiatic language threshold
audio in and out at 1314
73 and Good DX,
Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA)
7.5" MW loopstick Tecsun PL-380 +
8" Medium Wave FSL antenna
