Now, that was a bit more like it, as Dennis has already pointed
out. Can't say that there was anything new and astonishing, but it
was nice to see some of the old regulars showing some vigor
again. 774 was definitely the kingpin, with a thunderous "JOUB
NHK" ID by man at 1320UT, the "Akita dai ni hoso desu" that
followed was slurred so I wouldn't swear to that. Pretty sure I
caught "JOBB" by woman on 828 as well, but could only hear "NHK" on
747. A weak DU opening at 1345 rounded things out.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
774 JOUB man with weather details 1305 and following leading up to
ID mentioned above
972 HLCA? female pop mx at 1323, maybe followed by an interview with
the singer as it faded, as various lines from the previous song were
being sung by an unaccompanied female who sounded just like the
actual song, interspersed with her and a man talking. Sounded like
a party in the studio at times, with laughter, and they seemed to be
beating the song to death, as at 1328 it sounded like several people
singing it with accompanying instrumental so maybe the whole thing
was live. I could imagine the clinking of glasses.
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK 1329UT, first time this season, man in JJ //567
828 JOBB //774 at various times, best around 1313
1053 KK jammer 1325
1566 HLAZ man in JJ 1314UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be
understood by a native speaker:
747 JOIB man talking //774 at 1310 and following; NHK mention at 1320 by woman
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
612 woman talking at 1321UT, sounded EE and not //594; also noted
even more weakly at 1345UT; parallels indicate this was 4QR
702 2BL man talking very weak at 1345UT //612
774 3LO man talking very weak at 1345UT //612
828 3GI also //612, very weak
891 man talking 1327UT, didn't seem //594, so possibly Korea?
954 JOKR? woman talking JJ inflection 1326UT
1206 man talking 1307UT, signal slightly off channel, China?
1242 JOLF? woman talking at 1328 JJ inflection
1287 JOHR? woman and man talking w/JJ inflection at 1312UT
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
738, 837, 1098
best wishes,
Nick
