Interesting morning here in Kalama, WA. New station heard on 394 long wave. Kodiak Alaska with weather forecast. On MW channels HLAZ 1566 had a good signal with no audio at 1247. At 1305 heard what seemed like a ID jingle in Chinese with the words "Guangbo Diantai" spoken. Followed by open carrier. 1701 produced two to the Aussie stations, one dominant with Arabic music or chanting for around 18 minutes until XEPE splatter resumed. I did record and will review the recording latter today.
153 RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1145-1153 fair signal with man in Russian followed by music with ringing bells. Good signal at 1226.
180 RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1154-1155 steady weak signal with man in Russian. Fair signal at 1227 with piano music.
189 RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1155 steady weak signal with man in Russian. Good signal 1227 with piano music.
209 ALASKA, Yakataga Weather forecast with fair signal at 1228.
234 RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1225 fair signal with man in Russian. A lot of static.
279 RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1156-1158 good signal with man in Russian. 1158 Radio Rossii ID. 1159 Radio Rossii ID. Six pips 1200 Radio Rossii ID followed by news in Russian.
394 ALASKA, Kodiak 1232-1234 fair signal with weather forecast. New station here.
594 JAPAN, JOAK NHK1 1240-1242 with poor signal and piano music. Weak signal with Woman in Japanese at 1242.
603 REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLSA 1251 believed to be the station with poor signal with bits of audio with man speaker. NW ewe.
639 UNKNOWN, 1252-1254 poor signal with bits of audio coming through. Woman in ? language. China CRN1 heard previous seasons.
693 JAPAN, JOAB NHK2 1258 weak to fair signal with English conversation program. Program ended at 1259. Pips 1300.
738 TAHITI, Radio Polynesie 1301-1302 poor-weak signal with in French.
774 JAPAN, JOUB NHK2 1216 fair signal, but with heavy splatter from KTTH. Woman in Japanese. NW ewe. Weak on SW ewe, but less KTTH splatter.
828 JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1218 weak signal with woman in Japanese. NW ewe.
891 AUSTRALIA, 5AN? 1304 very weak signal briefly with woman in English. SW ewe.
972 REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLCA 1220 weak signal with heavy splatter from KUFO Portland, OR.
1566 REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1247 good signal S-7, but no audio? 1305 Good audio and signal with Chinese and jingle music ID in Chinese? V mentioned in ID. No audio after that, listened till 1310.
1575 THAILAND? 1205-1209 weak signal with woman speaker in unknown language. Saturday in Thailand and PALs has no programming listed for 1200-1230 Sat/Sun. First MW TP heard this morning.
1656 AUSTRALIA, 1311-1315 in and out poor signal with music at 1314.
1665 AUSTRALIA, 1337-1338 very weak signal with music. Moderate splatter. Signal faded out at 1338.
1701 AUSTRALIA, 1316-1333 two weak signals, one station with woman singing Arabic song? Other station to poor to make out programming. Not much splatter from XEPE. Best on Sky wire loop. Better signal than yesterdays reception. 1326 and still singing (chanting?). Almost fair signal at 1323. 1327 weaker other station in briefly with music, 1328 dominant station back with singing. 3VMV "Islamic Voice Radio" or "Voice of Charity" would be my guesses. XEPE splatter increasing at 1334. Very surprised that splatter was low for 18 minutes.

Dennis,
