Hello All,
The torrid DU propagation of the last two days cooled off a little on
the 400' sheer ocean cliff this morning, but not by much. About 10 NZ
and 7 Australian regulars were holding their frequencies with good
audio, but the obscure 2 kW Kiwis were no longer socking it to the
Aussie big guns, and no new DU's showed up. One of the 531 kHz
ID-averse Aussies (presumed 2PM) hit 25 on the PL-380 S/N display to
max it out, as did 567-RN, 603-Waatea, 657-Southern Star, 738-Tahiti
and 792-4RN. The Aussie X-banders were still missing in action, though,
and unlike yesterday's extended sunrise enhancement (which continued
past 1400), things were wrapped up this morning around 1350.
The Longwave results were a little better, with all 5 Radio Rossii
stations doing either excellent (153 and 279), good (180 and 189) or
fair (234). Many Alaskan NDB's had good signals, with 277-ACE showing
up for the first time this week. Sorry to hog the great DU-DX, but this
Cliff apparently doesn't know what poor propagation is ... absolutely
weird!
73 and Good DX,
Gary DeBock (in Cannon Beach, OR)
