[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Thursday , August 09, 2012

Regulars here this morning with the exception of a tentative reception of China on 1593.  1234 instrumental music came through briefly with a very weak signal.  Tahiti produced a listenable signal before 1300 utc, but of course faded just before the TOH to return at 1302 with a fair signal.  As Nick mentioned, a nice carrier has been heard here on 1098 most mornings.  The Australian ABC live streams are off when the Olympic coverage are being broadcast on the ABC.   

153       RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1208 weak signal with static and man in Russian.
180       RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1211 fair signal with static and man in Russian.
189       RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1213 good signal and less static with Arabic music.
209       ALASKA, 1215 fair signal with weather forecast.
279       RUSSIA, 1216 poor signal with man in Russian.  Fair at 1229 with music.
738       TAHITI, Radio Polynesia 1222 very weak briefly then back into splatter.  Fair at 1255-1301 with music
                  followed by man/woman in French. As usual signal fell off at 1300 and returned at fair level
                  at 1302 with man in French.   Heard on Sky wire loop, SW ewe and HPAW.
1053      REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1226 jammer weak on top of channel. 
1098      Marshall Island,? 1237 level 5 het last few mornings.  I checked channel at 1000 utc and heard 
                            nothing. Best on Sky wire loop. 
1503      AUSTRALIA,? 1241 poor audio on SW ewe. 1242 very weak now with unknown style of music.
1548      AUSTRALIA, 4QD ? fair signal, but battered in KKOV splatter from 1550.  Using ECSS mode in LSB
                     helps.  DU accented man talking. 
1566      REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1218 very weak signal with woman speaker. Sounds like Chinese language. 1228
                  weak on the SW ewe.  
1593      CHINA,? threshold audio at 1233 with splatter.  Very weak 1234 with instrumental music.  NW ewe.
