Now this is scary.

Googling "Rounds quits KFRC" gets a Google Book Search result for "Turn It Up!  American Radio Tales 1946-1996" by Bob Shannon.   On page 311, Shannon writes "Yes, it was that big a deal."  This was three years before Todd asked the question!

Hi all, on Pawn Stars this evening a guy had come in selling the first Rolling 
Stone Magazine in 1967 and on the front page this article "Tom Rounds quits KRFC 
might be KFRC". It was a 5 second peak. BTW that issue sold For $300.
 Was Tom quitting a big deal?
