Re: [IRCA] On the cover of Pop Comm

Hi Guy,

<<< Congratulations on making the Pop Comm magazine cover for July!
(Will you
autograph my copy? :^) >>>

Sure, I'll be happy to autograph your copy of Pop Comm magazine...
right after I get over the shock of being on the cover!

I notice that Bruce C. just wrote a major article on SDR receivers
(Perseus, Ex Caliber, etc.) in the June issue of Pop Comm... maybe, in
this political year, he is doing his best to give equal coverage to the
opposite end of the AM-DXing spectrum?? :-)

Hi Gary,

Congratulations on making the Pop Comm magazine cover for July! (Will
you
autograph my copy? :^)

Sooner or later, "our fair city" of Puyallup is going to be known as the
Birthplace of Ultralight Radios and you will need to charge admission to
all the folks trekking to your backyard, a.k.a. the *Loop Antenna
Testing
Facility*.

Anyway, well done! Congrats are also due the Pop Comm editors for
helping
to publicize this exciting niche of the radio hobby.

Guy Atkins

Thanks Colin,

Your post about the July issue of Popular Communications was the first
indication I had about any such article, so it was news to me. Bruce
Conti had sent me a few questions by email a few months back, but I
had
no idea that Ultralight Radio would be a major topic.

With well over 1,000 members now in out Ultralightdx Yahoo group, it
has certainly been a team effort to explore this exciting niche of the
AM-DXing hobby-- especially considering the huge contributions of John
Bryant, Rob Ross, Richard Allen, Allen Willie and many others. No
individual has any legitimate claim to "rock star" status :-)
