Tim,
KZOY only exsists on AM as a method to feed the translator at 92.1 FM. I'm
betting 80+ percent of KZOY's audience is on the FM signal.

In flyover country that's not so true.
Just my "locals" KXRB 1000 is CW, KZOY 1520 is 80's, KQAD 800 is oldies,
KNWC 1270 is Christian Contemporary. A daytime band scan is about half
music, half newstalk/sports with the most common music format being CW with
farm/ranch news thrown in at TOH/BOH.
We have areas where only one or two FM stations can be easily received and
the territory of my new job :D only one station can be heard throughout
eastern SD, WNAX on 570 during the day with their newstalk.farm format.
Weather permitting I'll get in some dashboard DXing in the evenings but
until May not much else.

That is too bad. Music on AM seems hard to keep.
