[IRCA] TP for 26 Sep from Victoria, BC

Didn't sound like a very exciting morning at first, with just the first tier stations audible on the SDR recording until after 1330 UT. Signals peaked generally around 1345, but approaching sunrise cut out enough interference for several lesser signals to poke through at 1400UT with pips, IS etc.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

1053 S. Korea: if there is a native speaker for jamming, this would be totally understandable at 1340UT, equal to signals on 1050kHz

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

747 JOIB //774 at various times after 1330UT
774 JOUB; this was generally the strongest of the NHK2 stations, but often suffered from splatter 873 JOGB; a bit of a surprise, but gradually rose to this strength by 1350UT //774 w/JJ talk by man, then faded below mx (N. Korea?)
972 HLCA at 1330UT
1287 JOHR; JJ pop at 1356UT
1566 HLAZ peaked between 1320 and 1330UT; came back at fair strength w/CC talk by 1349 after pattern change as well

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker

828 JOBB at various points; never caught it stronger than this...well, maybe briefly around 1336UT and 1341 at the EE intro to the vegetarian cooking described by Bruce
1323 CRI pop mx 1338; CRI chimes noted more weakly at 1400UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

594 presumed JOAK
945, 954, 1017, 1134....well, I have some guesses...
1143 ? 3 and 1 pips at 1400UT
1161 BCC Taiwan w/female vocal mx, then the last few notes of the BCC chimes at 1400UT; nice surprise.
1242 JOLF cuckoo sounding time pips at 1400UT

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

various

best wishes,
Nick
