I ran a recording of the full AM band TP search for the very first time
this morning. I was impressed by how useful a radio like the Excalibur
can be at such times. There wasn't a lot of TP audio to be had, but
the radio's display made it easy to spot weak carriers, of which there
were plenty.
Here's a summary of what the radio found at about 1230-1330. This was
an unattended recording with the antenna set up for omni reception.
Some carriers could have been either DU or Asia. The vast majority were
assumed to be the latter based on what's normally heard here.
Fair audio (words or phrases recognizable by a native speaker, all for
very brief periods): 594 693 747 774 1566
Real or imaginary audio in the splatter: 612 (DU or TP?) 828 972 1287
Carriers, some only a few db above the noise: 549 585 603 621 639 647
666 675 684 729 738 756 783 792 837 846 909 918 927 936 963 981 1008
1017 1026 1035 1062 1071 1098 1107 1116 11125 1134 1161 1179 1206 1269
1278 1323 1332 1422 1476 1575.
