I can only hope that monster generator that the KTRB transmitter is

The generator is at the night site up in the hills, which is apparently
back on the air after a few months of daytime-only operation, which may
explain why Patrick wasn't hearing them at night.
KTRB originally planned to operate by day from a site in the delta near
Vallejo, NE of San Francisco, but never got zoning/NIMBY permission to
move there, and after a period of operating by day from the night site
in the hills SE of Fremont, KTRB eventually ended up diplexing its day
signal with KFAX 1100 in Hayward, near the eastern shore of San
Francisco Bay. That site has shore power and doesn't require full-time
generator power like the night site.
