Ahh..hmm...  I would have thought it would have disconnected an internal antenna, like a few modified Tecsun models (PL-606, PL-310, PL-390) do.  (I say modified because as shipped the jack only works for FM/SW, but can be rewired to take a MW/LW antenna.)
