Re: [IRCA] TA's

It was interesting from the other side of the pond also apparently, Barry. Steve Whitt from the UK reported in MW Circle list:

.....

Last night brought in some trans-Atlantic signals at exceptional strength - probably the strongest signals this season.

I also noticed an interesting effect. Previously on channels with several North American stations co-channel the net result was a very "muddy" mix. Last night under similar circumstances it was often possible to discern clear audio from 2 or 3 stations simultaneously without the "muddiness".

1080 WTIC completely dominating over Europeans at 0804utc
840 WHAS ID best reception in many years at 0811
790 UNID ESPN good at 0815
1320 Radio Maryja in Polish via CJMR excellent at 0138
760 WJR presumed at S9+20dB !!! at 0128utc
1440 Saudi was insignificant leaving mix of WHKZ and WRED plus an UNID Black Gospel station (fits schedule of WBLA) at 0118
1110 WBT at 0100
1060 WQOM ID vg at 0059
1600 WUNR vg at 0035 // webstream - Capsulas deportivo
1580 CKDO excellent 0034
950 CKNB good strong and consistent signal; up to S9+20dB at 0040
1190 mix of 2 English stations & one Latin American with live footbal, "Gooooaaaaaallllllllllll!!!!!" at 0014
740 CHWO Zoomer Radio
1290 big Spanish sports (live football) signal mentioning Venezuela at 0020
700 WLW good at 2351
1200 WXKS very good at 2347 - several IDs not at top of hour "The New Rush Radio 12-hundred WXKS"
1010 CFRB huge signal at 2335 - much stronger than Holland on 1008
860 very good French talker at 0040 - presume CJBC - rarely heard even though other Toronto stations are regulars here on 680, 1010, 1050, & 1540

many above usual strength signals in the xband

DX died around 0840utc

Nothing much on the high end here tonight, but the bottom half of the band is
quite interesting. Mostly the usual suspects from Spain/UK/France/Holland,
but better than usual signals - 603 France is the clearest I've ever heard
them. 711 and 864 France also have some audio, and the big het on 702 is
likely Monaco. New here is 666 Germany. Also noted in passing is the more
common German on 756, and 765 Switzerland still has a loop on about their
shutdown.
