There are no directional AM's in Alaska and probably never will be.. land is
extremely hard to come by and what little you can find, is hard to build on.

KIAL had a CP to go to 4.2KW, still on 1450, but never built it out.. that
would've required a full 1/4 wave tower, albleit a big improvement over the
whip antenna and 50W they'd been using before years until shutting the AM
off and going to FM only.
