Steve, welcome to graveyard dxing! You did fantastic in 3 days..I
checked and see I have 23 stations heard on 1400 kHz (not counting the
myriad call changes). But this from 1957 to now. Most were back before
1990. I have a local over in Berkeley which is very hard to null (when
I can hear anything thru the HNL). Hearing Minnesota is quite a feat.
I think my furthest on a GY were El Paso on 1340 & Casper on 1400...Nice
dxing.

As almost everyone probably knows, I am anything but a domestic AM
DXer. Several days ago Paul Walker made a request for anyone hearing
several stations. Since one was 100 miles away I figured it would be
an easy listen, just tune there and have at it. How wrong I was! Not
being previously remotely knowledgable about signals on 1400, I have
become much better acquainted the past 3 days and I admit it's been
interesting and even enjoyable. And I have only heard 1400 KJDY once
so far, a brief fadeup with mentions of John Day (Oregon). The
farthest has been KEYL, MN "Real Country" which faded up briefly this
morning. Others have been KQMS, CA; KRPL, ID; KSPT/KBFI, ID; KBCK, MT;
KQDJ, ND; KBCH, OR; KLCK, WA/OR; KEDO, WA; KODI, WY. A SS station has
been heard several times but no chance for an ID.
It's interesting that the best time is early morning for several
hours. So far I haven't pulled any audio out of the continuous jumble
of stations mixing together at night.
