Not enough time to listen today, so this isn't too detailed, but it certainly seemed interesting around 1500 after a slow start. The Chinese stations are definitely moving out from their Seattle-area ghetto, with both 945 and 639 CNR-1 putting in a good signal, and strong pips on 621 at 1500UT.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
594 JOAK
774 JOUB
1566 HLAZ during JJ broadcast earlier, but quickly came back by 1415UT during the CC program
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
603 likely HLSA
621 unknown CC with pips at 1500UT; something else there also, and on channel, so not N. Korea?
639 and 945 both CNR-1 and in // with each other and 6030
972 HLCA with SAH and something else underneath
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker
747 JOIB
828 JOBB
1134 mx, so don't know if KK or JJ
1188 JOKP //594 at 1458UT; not a usual visitor. 594 quickly faded and was briefly replaced w/EE talk; 3WV seems unlikely with today's conditions, but who knows?
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
585 JOPG //594
918 didn't sound like CC talk; more KK?? there is a 50kw KBS1 listed....
1008 humming jammer with something underneath
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
not enough time to be chasing carriers, hi
best wishes,
Nick
