[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-31

     This morning's Asian propagation  sounded quite positive well before 
sunrise (around 1300)--  probably the same propagation bringing the "big gun" 
TP  signals to Nigel. Most of Nigel's TP's also had some audio here around 
that  time, and both 738-BEL2 and 936-Anhui were in audio around 1305. At  
1308 there was a sudden swoon in Asian propagation,  however, as all TP's 
collapsed well down into the noise until just  before 1400.
     After 1400 the band became like Nick's  mediocre situation, with a few 
"big guns" managing weak audio through the noise  until the band collapsed 
(around 1450). Sunrise enhancement didn't restore the  "big gun" TP's to 
their earlier (1300 UTC) strength, although a  few different Asian stations 
joined the anemic group during this  period (558-HLQH, 648-VOR, 657-Pyongyang 
and 1575-VOA). Overall results were  nothing to shout about, with all the 
vibrant TP signals seeming to fizzle out  well before sunrise. In the same way, 
Asian propagation during this last  week of October seems to have dropped 
off seriously, after a promising start  earlier in the month.   
 
The following were heard on a C.Crane SWP Slider model (7.5" loopstick),  
inductively coupled to a 9' sided PVC tuned passive loop (in the back yard). 
A  modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick) was used as an SSB spotting receiver:
