Re: [IRCA] WANS-1280

Still here loud & clear @2200, but this time, "You're listening to the Dennis Miller show on we {click} {pause} AM 1280, WANS, Anderson," and, again, into SRN nx.  The only station I get with any consistency on 1280 at night is WONW, Defiance, but they're so far down tonight as to be almost inaudible under WANS.

When I used to hear WANS in the mid-2000s they had a kind of urban AC format that seemed targetted at the whole region, particularly I recall them mentioning Greenville a lot.  I was rather surprised at this format because I've been to Anderson (brh--remember him from his many years as EDXF editor--used to live there & I visited him there.  Seemed more a small city than an urban area.  WANS was a rocker back then, and I recall brh asking me if I'd noticed their incredible fidelity for an AM station (I had).  I don't know what they were doing but they sounded almost as good as an FM.

WRIX-FM is Adult Contemporary Music 10am to 6pm and 10m to 6am.. so they
aren't simulcasting WRIX-FM
