Hi Mike,
It's fascinating to observe the differences between various listening
locations. Down here, nothing was even close to audio in the low end of
the band that day, and actually it's been that way for several days
now. It always amazes me how a 400 watt station in the X-band can
make audio, yet at the same time, I'll get nothing from the 50 kW
station just down the dial on 1548. Yesterday was almost totally dead
here, but today the Korean on 1566 is in quite well. It would appear my
annual transition from DU to TP is happening.

Nigel

The lowband DU's and TP's were getting thru up here, tho for the most
part very difficult to even make out the language. One big difference
between this morning and a few days back, no signals appeared until
just before local sunsrise, around 13:00, where as Tuesday last week
DU's were in as early as 08:00UTC. Did manage to get a nice clear ID
from 3LO and heard Japan on 747, both unwanted. For a short period
virtually every split between 700 and 900 had a carrier on it. Sorry,
can't help with your 1611-UNID.
