Re: [IRCA] TP/DU reception

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the interesting comparison.

I remember how much fun it was a year ago to chase TP's with the modest 3'
bedside loop, and finally be able to go after some of the Asiatic stations
that the "big three" TP-DXers (you, Walt and John) were hearing :-)

639-CNR1 seems to be missing in action so far this month, but the other
stations have at least put in an appearance here, usually at halfhearted
levels. Dennis seems to be doing very well, and his daily TP results seem to
follow the same propagation patterns as mine (as opposed to Steve and Nigel,
who seem to be DXing through a different ionesphere).

I dunno Don. I can't speak for myself, as I wasn't here last year at this

So actually his report this morning sounds pretty competitive. John
Bryant was hearing good stuff, but from a good location with big antennas.

And here's what Dennis heard tomorrow morning, one year ago:

>153 RUSSIA, 1200 fair with pips TOH and moderate noise.
>180 RUSSIA, 1209 very weak barely above noise level.
>234 RUSSIA, 1211 steady weak signal and less noise than above channels.

OK, guys, see what you can do tomorrow morning!

best wishes,

Nick

an excellent year for everything to the west.
