Re: [IRCA] TP's for 08/26/10

Hi Dennis,

Congratulations on your fine E100 Ultralight TP loggings from the Ocean
Spray Beach Resort in Grayland. You certainly did a great job with the tiny
radio, and the Space Magnet loop!

Our family also recently returned from an ocean beach trip to Lincoln City,
Oregon (August 20-22), during which the conditions mostly favored the DU
stations, but with occasional Asiatic TP reception. From now on the DU's
will probably get tougher to log, so it was nice to hear them with good
strength one last time this season.

Thanks again for your Grayland TP-DX report, Dennis, and I hope you
wouldn't mind if I re-post it on the Yahoo Ultralightdx list, where they would be
very interested in your E100 TP-DX loggings.

Good Morning,

My wife told me Tuesday that she wanted to go to Grayland for her birthday.
Grayland Motel and cottages had no vacancies, we were able to get a cottage
at Ocean Spray Beach Resort a mile North of Grayland Motel and cottages.
Staying in cottage #6, which is closest to the ocean, about 300 yards.
Nice picnic area behind the cottage with two picnic benches. Have two
radios,
Palstar R-30cc and Eton E100. Antennas are two Space Magnet loops. A lot
of
noise in the cabin, so I DX outside on the picnic bench from 1256-1346
utc.

954 JAPAN, JOKR 1327 fair with Japanese.
1044 CHINA? 1312 very weak audio and a lot of splatter from domestics.
1053 UNKNOWN, 1314 weak music heard. No sign of jammer, Looped TP
direction.
1134 CHINA, CRN1 1325 good with woman in Chinese.
1134 UNKNOWN 1346 weak audio loop DU direction.
1422 JAPAN, JORK 1333 weak with Japanese.
1566 REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1259 real good signal. 1315 good.
1593 CHINA?, CRN1 1316 weak with just bits of audio. Looped TP.

The above heard on the Eton E100 and Space Magnet loop.
We will be leaving on Saturday. I just read Patrick Martin's
comments on the poor conditions this morning, hopefully conditions
will improve. I tried 531 kHz a few times this morning and nothing
heard.
