You will find Brian Beezley's analysis of the HD-6000 more useful than
Winegard's I'm sure. All of the measurements here are calculated on the
dimensions of my antenna that I provided him, so it should be quite
accurate. http://ham-radio.com/k6sti/hd6000.htm
I've used the HD-6000 fairly extensively for tropo openings, and it's quite
handy for my use indoors. I have a lot of indoor RFI to contend with, so I
don't have any subjective observations on gain or weak-signal performance,
but I do know that it's directionality is a big advantage over a dipole. If
you have more space and/or money, go with something bigger of course, but go
for the HD-6000 if you are really worried about space, it does a good job
considering how small it is.
