Had an antenna blow-down a couple of days ago, and finally got the west Flag back in service yesterday, so was able to listen a bit this morning at around 1300 and 1330 UTC.
Conditions seemed quite erratic, so a longer listening period would yield more stations, but for the most part, nothing was very strong.
The 1476 mystery was pretty well gone this morning, and there was little evidence of Chinese stations overall (maybe CRI on 1044 for a moment). On the RealDX list, Chuck Hutton has suggested Zibo RGD from his experience, while Mauno Ritola suggested Heilongjiang, as both seem to use the truncated three and one time pips on the hour, rather than the standard five and one Chinese pips, in spite of being in different provinces and running different programs. Carefully examining one of the recordings made here suggest there are two sets of pips there, slightly offset in time; interestingly, a recording of Mauno's made in Finland shows both sets of pips there also. So maybe we've both heard both, though his is a far better recording, with a definite mention of Heilongjiang.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
828 JOBB
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
HLCA 972
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker
594 JOAK
774 JOBB
873 JOGB //828
1287 JOHR likely at 1330UT w/JJ talk
1566 HLAZ during the Japanese program
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
567 JOIK presumed, never had this and 594 up at the same time
603 possibly HLSA w/mx
738 a mess, signals from both DU and Asia
747 JOIB
954 JOKR?
1044 woman talking, maybe //7325, at 1312UT; if so, CRI
1134 likely JOQR, as didn't seem //972 or 4460
1242 likely JOLF at 1336UT
1475 briefly living up to its portly carrier at 1331UT w/male singing
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
1053, 1206 off channel so likely Yanbian?
Happy Easter.
best wishes,
Nick
