Hello All,
Thanks for the TP reports from Dennis and Nick (so far). This morning I
was listening from 1340-1400 using the 7.5" loopstick PL-380 inductively
coupled to the 7.5' PVC box loop, and found fairly good conditions, especially
on the high band. 1503-JOUK (reported by Dennis) was also strong here, even
stronger than the 594 kHz parallel. The most interesting discovery was a
disco music TP co-channel with 1575-VOA Thailand shortly before 1400,
something never before heard here.
594 JOAK Fair signal at 1342, NHK1 program
738 BEL2 Chinese music at 1349, fair
747 JOIB Good at 1339, but declined in strength afterwards
1134 Mix Weak mix at 1355, apparently of JOQR and KBS
1377 China In and out of noise, best at 1352
1503 JOUK NHK1 program was strongest Japanese station at 1348, //594
1566 HLAZ Japanese religious program strong at 1350; with Chinese after
1400
1575 Mix VOA-Thailand's Asian language discussion had competition
from a station
playing disco music repeatedly from 1353-1400,
occasionally stronger
than VOA. A marginal recording is at

The 1575 kHz mix did not include Radio Farda (different null direction) or
any spur from semi-local 1560-KZIZ (which was checked), No idea who the TP
disco station was, but the same loop antenna did receive a weak Korean
co-channel under 1503-JOUK in December. Maybe the Philippines?

Spotting receiver: Modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick)
Main receiver: Modified Tecsun PL-380 (7.5" loopstick)
7.5' (side) PVC tuned passive loop (in the back yard)
