[IRCA] TP for 23 Jan from Victoria, BC

The big guns actually acquitted themselves well this morning, with 774 and 594 in the leading spots.   693 was a very rare attendee (at least at this location) at the party, but even so, much of what was heard was at the unreadable audio level, and dug out by fairly concentrated listening from 1420 to after 1530,  with a brief listen after 1545UT as well. Almost all of it seemed to be Japanese.   

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

reasonable audio  at  times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

747 JOIB
828 JOBB
873 JOGB
972 HLCA
1287 JOHR at 1522UT



not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker

567 JOIK //594 but not until 1511UT
639 CNR-1 //6125 about a minute long fade up then down at 1515UT; not heard otherwise
693 JOAB //774 struggling through the CBU-690 splatter
954 likely JOKR w/JJ talk at 1520UT
1566 HLAZ mostly a big carrier but faded to this at 1549UT



Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

603 later on
666 JOBK //594 at 1514
837 at 1531 didn't seem NHK1 though
846 didn't seem //594
864 at 1512UT
963 at 1523, couldn't tell language
1089 mystery at 1525UT
1134 didn't seem //972 or 6165, likely JOQR?
1143 at 1530UT
1242 later on
1269 seemed //1287 at 1550UT, so a bit of a surprise, as these JOHR repeaters aren't strong
1503 JOUK //594 at 1534UT
1512 at 1548UT, didn't seem NHK2, maybe Philippines?




Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

639 DU direction at 1511, 657, 891
