[IRCA] TP for 5 Jan from Victoria, BC

Caught the later bus to work this morning which enabled me to check out a bit of
a sunrise enhancement this morning. Originally did a check at 1440UT, and did
get one of the NHK2 channels at good strength. A later check at 1520ish nailed
a couple of Aussies, which have been unusual of late (NHK2 had signed off it
seems by then). Final check was at 1540 to 1553UT.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

774 JOUB at 1448UT

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR //774 at 1539
639 CNR-1 //5030 at 1546
774 3LO //612 at 1539UT
972 likely HLCA at 1448 and 1523 UT
1575 VoA it seems, at 1524

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker

747 JOIB earlier
828 JOBB earlier
945 CNR-1 //5030 at 1540UT
1134 mx not //972 or 5030 at 1537UT; JOQR?
1566 HLAZ briefly at 1546UT w/CC talk; monster carrier

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

594 likely JOAK
657 off channel mx, likely N. Korea, at 1543
675 at 1541 woman talking
738 mx at 1453, seemed DU
792 brief mx at 1452, seemed DU per direction
828 weak talk by woman u/strong carrier (which was likely JOBB after s/off?)
918 at 1542, CC inflected talk
1008
1026
1224 woman talking, may have been //594; good catch whatever it is.
1503 likely JOUK, seemed //594

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

1539 seemed Asia

best wishes,

Nick
