[IRCA] Puyallup, WA TP's for 11-5... Sunrise Surprises

Hello All,

Although the band was not close to peak October levels, this morning some
interesting signals came in, although most were too weak to ID.

After a fruitless Asian sunset DXing session (0850-0930) in which only the
TP powerhouses had much audio (a significant downturn from yesterday's
situation), at 1435 this morning 756-CNR1 not only had its best signal of the
season, but had a weak co-channel under it (presumably KBS, also logged
here last year).
The strangely strong signal from 756-CNR1 really stood out among the
generally modest TP's this morning.

Diligent checks were made for Nick's 963 NHK synchros, but the frequency
was little more than an anemic carrier all morning. 594 kHz had a weak JOAK
all alone until 1450, when the UnID Chinese station joined it for a brief
period. The best discovery of the morning was a co-channel TP mixing with
972-HLCA at 1500, which was obviously there under the Korean, but tough to ID
the language (it sounds Chinese to me). It seems that this 972 co-channel
had been heard by another of the local gang recently-- maybe Nick or Bruce?
Anyway, if the recording somehow yields ID clues, this 972 co-channel
would be a new TP here.

As Nick has also noticed, this late-season November propagation does
indeed offer some good opportunities to dig out weak co-channels on the usually
dominant TP stations' frequencies. With almost all of the powerhouse TP's
seriously down in strength, there seems to be no shortage of weak, obscure
stations rising up to be heard-- and this may be the only time all year that
they present themselves. So although general TP signal strengths seemed
modest, the morning was another really interesting session.
