[IRCA] Puyallup, WA TP's for 11-2... Anemic at Best
Hello All,
Although TP signals in general have been rather poor around sunrise
lately, at least there were a few pleasant surprises like Chinese and Korean
co-channel stations showing up on frequencies like 558, 585 and 594 kHz because
of the weakened Japanese signals. Unfortunately, this morning there was
very little co-channel action-- just a trace of something else on 594 khz
around 1445, as JOAK' s signal was down in the noise.
Efforts were made to check for Nick's Chinese co-channels on 774 and 828,
but this morning a DXer here would have been lucky just to find the NHK
stations at good levels. Sunrise brought very little improvement in TP
signals, and in comparison to a 0900 band check (after local midnight) during the
Asian sunset, this morning's TP propagation was paltry indeed. If one has
the option, maybe it's time to shift the TP listening time about 5 hours
earlier. Despite the awkward early morning hour (which shouldn't bother
Perseus owners), many strong TP signals show up around 0900 here in November--
including the 594, 747 and 972 kHz powerhouses (which were received after
midnight on a stock Sony SRF-59 in November of 2007, to start off the
Ultralight craze).
