Re: [IRCA] Logging a complete state
Well, over the years, I have managed to log all stations in some states at
the time. Of course, there has been a lot of changes.
Bill, that very good!
I grew up in Texas, and while living just out side of Dallas, I logged all
254 counties. With the exception of about 20. Those counties did not have
radio stations. Never heard ALL the radio stations in Texas.
While here in Maryland, I heard all of Delaware and Maryland.
That isn't much to brag about from Delaware. With only 3 counties and a hand
full of stations. In 1966 while stationed at Norfolk, VA I logged all
stations from Delaware using a portable radio I bought at the PX.
I also managed to hear all of the stations in South Korea while DXing in
Seoul.
Aboard the U.S.S. OZARK, while crossing the Atlantic on the way to northern
Europe, I used the R-390 in the ICman shack to hear European, African and
South America. I even have a QSL from WFAA-820 heard while underway in the
English channel.
Remember I have been a DXer for over 40 years.
Bill, I started AM BCB DXing 1952. All that means is that I am old.
It is pssible that I got the idea of DXing all counties in a state from
being a counties hunter on 10 meters ham radio. I havent heard all the
stations in Tennesse. Have the lions share of the southern states, with the
exception of Kentucky.
