[IRCA] TP's for October 30, 2009 - Victoria - Spooky
Listened from 1445 and there were signs of life on the lower
quadrant of the medium-wave band... or were there?
I started at 279 and found a lively Russian speaker.
Skipping up the dial to 531, I found a het and little else...
Turning over some rocks, I found Japanese on 558... I was filled with dread... and optimism...
Rustling through the fallen leaves on 576 I found some more Russian
voices -- crystal clear... I would hazard an 8 or even a 9.
Encouraged, I pressed on through this dark and musty portion of the dial.
585... little more than faint whispers... 594 someone talking in Japanese...
but wait - there was something VERY wrong here - there were 2 stations...
fighting it out. Who would win?
Frightened, I moved on to 603 where
I found choral music. I was exhausted by now. Could I go on?
I quickly discovered, as I moved up the dial from 612, that there was
nothing but stillness, a radio dial disguised as life. Fragments of
audio littered the remainder of my search - but nothing was revealed.
Locals and splatter cluttered the dial. All was lost.
Welcome to the Fall. Happy Halloween. (Yea, I know... it's tomorrow...)
