[IRCA] TP for 8 Oct from Victoria, BC

Started listening at 1330UT again, and once again by 1340, things were in the doldrums; didn't really pick up until 1415 or so, which was cut short by traipsing off to work. I'd guess not as good a morning as yesterday

pretty darn good audio :

594 JOAK
657 N.Korea winning over the hum at 1405UT
747 JOIB at 1407
774 JOUB; at thunderous level later on
828 JOBB
1575 VoA at 1413

reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):

531 JOQG //594 at 1409UT
558 HLQH //603 at 1410
567 JOIK
603 HLSA with at least one other station
612...operatic singing briefly at 1422UT, sounded very like 2850, but no N Korea listed, then NHK1 came up, and finally replaced by EE talk from 4QR
639 CNR1 //5030
918 CC talk, likely Shandong RGD
954 JOKR
972 HLCA finally to this level by 1413; big carrier as always; audio peaked above this level at 1417UT
1287 JOHR, maybe got into the "darn good" category from time to time
1377 CNR1 //5030

549 RR talk //576 at 1350

576 RR and something else at 1343UT

666 two stations, neither the Japanese at one point, though that reappeared later;
972 HLCA big carrier
1017 CRI w/KK talk
1053 KK jammer
1134 Korea //972
1242 JOLF likely w/pop mx at 1418UT
1251 VoR; slow female vocal at 1412, //6145, into CC talk 1414UT
1422 JORF likely w/JJ talk at 1415
1575 VoA at 1420UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:

189 and 279 R. Rossii
711 sounded like KK talk, likely HLKA
864 sounded like JJ talk; not //1287
1089 CC inflected talk in splash at 1413UT
1134 a mix, mostly Korea dominant
1152 JORB/JOPC //828
1161 Taiwan likely
1188 KK talk? at 1414UT, so FEBC (HLKX)
1215 likely VoR
1269 JJ talk, but 1287 had faded down at the time, so no //
1503 JOUK //594 at 1410UT
1566 HLAZ, good carrier of course
1593 CNR1 //5030

Burbles in the splatter and noise:

 included 153, 1314 (big carrier) 1323

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

none that hadn't some small amount of audio.

best wishes,

Nick
