Hi Colin,
The City of Puyallup also operates a TIS station on 1580 kHz. This one is
kind of interesting, with mentions that Mt. Rainier volcanic lahar (mud
flow) warnings and evacuation instructions would be broadcast on the
frequency if needed.
I hope it never is :^)

There are two TIS stations in the Seattle area. The dominant one is
operated by the city of Burien, which is between Sea-Tac airport and
Puget Sound. There's also one in Sammamish, about 15 miles east of
here. The Burien tx seems to get out quite well, Sammamish less so. I
can't say if you heard one of them, but they pretty much rule out
reception of China for me
TIS on 540khz?
Wow. News to me -
Thought there were only TIS on 530 and 1610.
Thanks,
