[IRCA] TPs, DUs for August 29th
Conditions were poorer this morning, but some interesting catches from
Puyallup none the less. I was surprised to find 2NR Grafton, Australia doing
OK on my Northwest terminated loop, with hints of 4RN Brisbane too. I'd also
like to know what station had the threshold audio on 936; Anhui, seems the
most likely candidate with 200kW per the PAL reference.
------------------
594 UNID - weak music at 1245.
738 AUSTRALIA 2NR GRAFTON Faint female tk and music 1245, then clearly 2NR
Grafton with gd level Aussie man & woman in English at 1255. Fair to good
sporadically with Aussie country music and announcers from 1315-1330.
747 JAPAN JOIB SAPPORO - poor in JJ,and parallel 774 at 1245.
774 JAPAN JOUB AKITA - poor at 1245, parallel to 747; occasionally audible
after 1300.
792 UNID - faint music at 1256; 4RN Brisbane?
828 JAPAN JOBB OSAKA - fair to gd with JJ talk 1245
891 JAPAN JOHK Sendai - threshold tk 1245, then JJ talk man & woman at 1256,
poor to fair.
918 UNID - brief threshold audio at 1305.
936 UNID - threshold audio at 1300 - who might this be?
972 SOUTH KOREA HLCA - KK talk by man at 1258; poor to fair signal.
1053 NORTH KOREA - KK jammer mixing with faint talk (presumed V. of Natl.
Salvation, Haeju)
1287 JAPAN JOHR Sapporo - JJ talk poor-fair at 1259
1422 JAPAN JORF Yokahoma - briefly rose above noise for just 1/2 minute at
1303. Man & woman with JJ talk, then gone. Fair while it lasted. I just
happened to notice a short, dark trace
on the Perseus waterfall display at 1303:15; otherwise I would have likely
missed it.
1575 THAILAND VOA Ayutthaya - fair-gd 1249 in Vietnamese; SE Asian pop mx
1250. Poorer signal after 1300 with VOA music 1304.
1593 UNID - weak audio 1251
