[IRCA] Re IRCA 63-30-4 CBA 1070
Bill,
If you are wondering if CBA is still broadcasting on 1070 kHz, the answer is absolutely not. The 1070 transmitter was turned off several months ago and has not returned. 1070 is now wide open here in the Northeast US with different stations dominating at various times. 1070 would be alot of fun to DX these days were it not for the IBOC jamming from WTIC-1080 Hartford, CT.

Subject: [IRCA] Re IRCA 63-30-4 CBA 1070
Hi,I'm wondering if CBA is still on the air simulcasting with FM 106.1? I thought they shut that one down a while ago.Back in the summer of '68 I had the opportunity to catch intermittent glimpses(I was going to high school then) of their single 475 ' tower about a 1/4 mile from my home in the small village(a road with farms along it) of Fox Creek in NB ,about 8 miles from Moncton. They were relocating from the shortwave tower site in Sackville about 20 miles from Moncton since the signal from there was not strong enough in the city. After firing up that new tower all my dxing time was ended since the 50kw signal was coming in on about a dozen other frequencies. It even came through on the kitchen stove when the oven was turned on.I even heard one day that someone in the neighborhood could hear the CBA signal in their tooth fillings, but I think that must have been a joke.Bill in BC
