Re: [IRCA] KORC for sale
The price is low, but advertising is not in great demand. The originial
owner who put the station on in the 80s, set it up from scratch for
about $50K, but had a bit of money and wanted to own his Adult Standards
station. The gentleman aged and sold KORC, but since then, the different
owners has had a time keeping it above water. Waldport has only a couple
thousand people and they are in a market with Newport, Toledo., Lincoln
City, where there are a lot of FMs too. Plus the downturn in the
economy.
But the Adult Standards format seems to be a good nitch for them, being
the town is a 55 an over community for the most part. I doubt the 1 KW
covers Newport or other towns all that well an add to that only 15 watts
at night, probably doesn't reach beyond the Waldport city limits, if
that.
