Are you sure that you're really getting 24-36? The Wi-Fi router would have to be connected to a service far faster than most consumer DSL or cable services.
Yes, 1-2 is common on 3G unless you're on a lightly loaded cell site. Peak speeds can be higher, but 1-2 is average, based on all the tests I've done over the years. And 1-2 is fine for YouTube. In fact, I have no problem using YT on my cell phone, which runs EV-DO Rev. A, a service that has a peak download speed of 3.1.

1-2 megs? That is all. The wifi is giving me 24-36 megs most of the time
and I have an idea, it is some distance considering the signal strength.
I would think as high tech as a cel signal, they could be better than
1-2 megs. I doubt the You Tube would even play! Are you sure of this?
