[IRCA] TP for 6 Mar from Victoria, BC
Didn't get to the radio until 1445UT this morning, but conditions didn't sound too bad, given the later time, especially at the upper end of the band (not 1566 and 1575 however). What signals were heard often had rapid and erratic fades. No barn-burner signals, but some intriguing ones nonetheless.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
none
reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK
774 JOUB
828 JOBB
1503 JOUK //594
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
603 likely HLSA
1287 likely JOHR
1314 possibly JOUF; sounded JJ
1494 the morning mystery. At 1456, may have been //1287 which was mostly not there at the time, so I'll classify it as wishful thinking. Not sure the talk really had JJ inflection, and Philippines has been heard here years ago. Nothing much across the hour.
Burbles in the splatter and noise:
567 JOIK //594
972 likely HLCA
1422 mx only, could be JORF
1512 best on West Flag, but talk didn't sound DU EE, possibly Philippines??
1566 likely HLAZ
1575 likely VoA
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 1098 DU, 1134
best wishes,
Nick
