[IRCA] not much TP for 11 Jan from Victoria, BC
Listened on and off between 1435 and 1535UT this morning, and it was generally poor for any TP audio. Part of that perception is fueled by the NHK2 stations signing off at 1500UT instead of later (I wonder if that is every day now?), because their strength was increasing as the final bars of the music box sounded at 1505. After that, the carriers were quite powerful at times, but of course, no audio. Any other audios were quite erratic, and mostly were found by watching them pop up on the DX Fishbarrel. So, let's say conditions were poor but may be improving.
One anomaly was hearing audio on 774, woman talking through JOUB carrier, quite weak, but had a CC inflection? Was best on N. Flag so not DU. If it was China, then it was the only Chinese heard.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
774 at 1505UT, closing bars of the music box
reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):
828 JOBB at 1439, and during s/off
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
747 JOIB during s/off 1503UT
774 unID; woman talking u/JOUB carrier as mentioned above
Burbles in the splatter and noise:
594 JOAK likely at 1509UT
873 JOGB mx box at 1504
972 HLCA likely at 1506UT
1134 at 1439, could have been Japan or Korea
1566 likely HLAZ at 1507
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 279, 738DU, 1116DU, 1206, 1548 likely DU
best wishes,
Nick
