Re: [IRCA] Investing in Ultralight DX's Future...............

Hello John and Rob,

Don't feel fanatical about having two Sony SRF-T615 units-- there have
been two here for quite some time :>) Let me echo Rob and John in saying
that the tiny radio is worth every dollar of the lofty price, and is a unique
combination of extreme compactness and sensitivity. Ever user has had nothing
but praise for the tiny overachiever, and some (like Rob) have developed a
unique attachment to Sony's ultimate Ultralight.

Audio Cubes 2 does have some competition now from the eBay vendor
"joynetcafe," however. The eBay vendor offers the unit at $135.00 plus $20.00
express shipping, while Audio Cubes 2 demands $149.00 plus $16.00 express
shipping. I've ordered from both, and the service is comparable.

John and I have both had the fascinating experience of standing at
Grayland and receiving multiple TP's on a tiny stock SRF-T615-- in the palm of
our hands. It is an experience unlike any other in our hobby, providing one of
the ultimate thrills in Ultralight DXing.

     73 and Best Wishes,

     Gary

ROB!

You are absolutely brilliant!!!You are absolutely brilliant!!!! I knew
that As you know, I've been a bit under the weather and away from the dials
for the last week or so. That gave me some time to ponder the future of my
ULR efforts, too. I'm four-square for the Slider E100 and for one with the
Murata filter aboard for TP or TA work, but as with you, the SRF-T615 has been
my favorite Ultralight since one dropped outta the sky near Stillwater about a
year ago. In recent weeks, I have been mixing Unlimited domestic DXing with
the Slider E100 with Barefoot work, especially above 1200 kHz, with my much
beloved T615. I'd love that little beauty even if I wasn't a DXer... it is
about the ultimate combination of engineering and product design, rendered in
early 21st Century materials and technology.. I'm four-square for the Slider
E100 and

Like you, I've rat-holed an extra E100 or two and think that my supply will
last for a good long time.... but of my real favorite, the T615.... only one
copy. Well, today, I, too, ordered a back-up T615 from Audio Cubes 2. With
the quite reasonable air shipping, the total was a rather staggering $165....
I'll not be rat-holing multiple back-ups of this baby, that is for sure.
However, this real classic is NOT going to stay in the Sony line all that
long.... and I don't trust even Sony to get everything right very often, so, I'm
happy to fork over the money for one more of these classics while they are
still available.

I did have a bit of trouble finding the proper Audio Cube website.... there
are two. If you want to join Rob and me by wearing both belt and suspenders,
T615-wise, the site with the radio is _http://www.audiocubes2.com_
(http://www.audiocubes2.com) .

Like I say, Rob, your thinking is brilliant...Like I say, Rob, your
thinking is brilliant..... now, would you like to give Linda Bryant a call at
my home number and explain just ho

Hi Guys:

Saturday morning with a Bad Back....... Nowhere to go, and Nothing to
do.....except cruise the net looking for something to compliment my ULR DXing
Arsenal!! After some deliberation and thought I ended up back on the Audio Cubes
Website and Ordered myself ANOTHER SONY SRF-T615 Ultralight. As I'm sure
everyone knows.....It is truly my Favourite ULR...and has been the WorkHorse
during my Trek to 600 Stations Heard over the past year. I have been thinking for
a while....."What if they Discontinue this radio eventually.. thought I

into ULR Land!!

The Price of these has gone up somewhat since I bought my last one in JAN
2008...but at least the shipping has remained the same...$16.00 from JAPAN to
CANADA.

So...Now that I have bought some more Stock Options in Audio Cubes II.....I
guess you're gonna have to put up with me a little while longer here on the
Ultralight Reflector!! Besides...I think I pretty much have TWO of every other
ULR........so I'm sure this SINGLE T615 was feeling a little LONELY!!

I sure hope SONY keeps this PRIMO ULR in their CATALOG for some time....but
just in case....I will sleep a little better now knowing I am covered with a
BACKUP!!

Once again.....for those who have never used a T615......and are a little
GUNSHY due to the price.....but still may be thinking of purchasing one....I
hope my Purchase of a 2nd Unit will re-Inforce any thoughts you have .....of
just how good I feel this Radio is!!

Now I'll be sitting here on Pins and Needles til it arrives and finds a New
Home here in ULR Land!!
