[IRCA] TP for 3 Jan from Victoria, BC
I've been away recently, so this was the first listening of the new year, and conditions didn't seem to bad for midwinter, with several CNR1 stations being heard for example. Not particularly good signal strengths on anything, however.
HLAZ-1566 was also delivering audio traces during its Russian program between 1730 and 1800 UT, and faded "up" (signals were really marginal at best) for the pips at 1800. My gosh, they kill the carrier quickly after that last pip; not like NHK2 which left their carriers on for quite a long time after the 1540UT s/off this morning.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
none
reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK at 1530UT; this hung in well after 1600, weak but clear with no 600 splatter anymore
747 JOIB

828 JOBB
972 HLCA usual big carrier
1566 at 1534UT usual big carrier
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
612 at 1537UT and later; pop mx w/ DU direction so likely 4QR

945 CNR1 //5030 at 1535, not before (any audio heard before didn't seem //5030)
1287 JOHR at 1536UT
1377 CNR1 //5030 at 1544UT, man in CC

Burbles in the splatter and noise:

603 mumbling at 1540UT, not //594, so possibly KBS2; with 600 clear, this will be a much nicer channel

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 279, 657 w/hum, 1053 with hum, 1098 DU bearing, 1188, 1548 w/DU bearing
