[IRCA] TP for 15 Dec from Victoria, BC
Another unexciting morning, at least to start with. Started around 1430UT again, and listened on and off (mostly off) until after 1620UT. Where things became interesting was around 1600 when an upper band sunrise lift kicked in. Quite a difference from the rather blah conditions earlier, though practically nothing could be ID'd.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
774 JOUB at 1539UT
reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):
972 HLCA at 1532, big carrier as always; heard as late at 1655, but very weak audio
1242 music at 1608, likely JOLF
1422 music at 1605, likely JORF?
1503 JOUK //594 at 1610
1566 HLAZ at 1553, but fighting with hum due to off channel possible Filipino
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
567 JOIK //594 at 1533UT; still traces of audio at 1652
594 JOAK
747 JOIB
873 JOGB at 1537UT //774
1134 two stations at 1606UT, presumably Japan and Korea
1287 JOHR likely at 1538
1386 maybe two stations, but neither of them //5030 or 774 just after 1600UT, so no idea
1395 at 1612UT; also no idea
1404 possibly Japan, but with a big hum on the channel, at 1608
1575 likely Thailand at 1610
1593 CNR1 //5030 1616
Burbles in the splatter and noise:
279 strong carrier, weak audio, presumably Russia
558 early on
1188 possibly FEBC Korea
1494 mumbled talk at 1616UT
1512 CC inflected talk?, perhaps two stations, at 1614
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 738 seemed Asian, 1359, 1377, 1476; the latter 3 after 1600UT
best wishes,
Nick
