Re: [IRCA] Orcas TPs for October 15, 2008
Hi, John. Full report will have to wait. Listened from 12:29 to past 16:00 (while tearing down the antennae and cleaning up the cabin). Agree, that Vietnam was in with some great signals on 729....especially later. A very strong channel through past 9:00 AM local. Started, as is so commonly seen, quite slow with not much happening, although 531 NHK1 was booming in right from the start. Agree too that 1323 was really strong (a 9), even better than 963. Some weak audio from the Aussie X-banders too. North Korea continues to do very well. Overall a slow start, but picking up in a big way after about 14:00. By the way, my NW BOG was inoperative....the antenna had been pulled out from the matching tx....perhaps by the same bear I saw yesterday! OK, though, as I mostly used my permanent N mini-Beverage to very good use this morning....much better than the ALA 100 and 270 degree BOG. My chart has wall-to-wall audios from top to bottom and I have a good assortment of SDR-IQ audio files to play with. My Perseus, I hear, is on it's way back to Victoria after being repaired. If I'm not too beat, I'll post a full report later.....Walt Salmaniw (waiting for my Victoria flight at Vancouver Airport)
