Last night I bought a Terk on Amazon for $29.99 with free shipping. My
mother-in-law gave me a $25.00 Amazon gift card for my birthday so I'm out a
whopping $4.99.
I've had a Select-a-Tenna for at least 25 years and I've read the radiointel
comparison review. It's always worked very well. A long time ago a friend
had a Heathkit stereo receiver and the AM section didn't work. His closest
local (2.5 KW a couple of miles away) was just barely there. I'd brought the
Select-a-Tenna with me and I put it next to the ferrite bar. The band came
to life as if nothing was wrong.
I'm starting to do TP DX; it's all outdoors because of severe manmade noise
in my apartment. I've been putting the Sony 2010's carrying strap around my
neck then I have the radio face up while tuning around. Holding the
Select-a-Tenna in my arm pit hasn't been very comfortable. My arm will go
through the center of the Terk and I'll be able to pull it up for use a lot
easier than the Select-a-Tenna. On top of that it's a lot nicer looking.
There have been times when having a second loop would have come in handy.
I'm just getting started with TP DX. I'm going to use my stock Sony 2010 for
awhile until I get to know which stations are regulars and which ones are
harder to hear. I'll be carrying my stock E100 in case somebody is really
strong. After awhile I'll graduate to the E100 then the analog ultralights
(Sony SRF-59 and 39FP). The Sangean DT-400W is extremely sensitive but won't
win any awards for selectivity. Who knows; maybe I'll hear something good on
it some day.

I own two Terk loops and recommend them as well. The Sony 7600GR sits in
it like a cradle - Bruce has a great idea with heavy-duty velcro.
Per http://www.radiointel.com/review-2loop.htm the Terk and
Select-A-Tenna are about the same, with the performance nod going to the
Terk, which is also a lot cheaper. I prefer the looks of the Terk as
well, although the now-discontinued RS model has the tuning cap on the
outside, which I think would be more convenient.
