Re: [IRCA] Victoria TPs for 9 Oct 08 antenna scorching levels

That's a great signal from JOUB. I've heard them that strong but not recently. My current activities have come to a near-halt due to heavy interference when aiming my Kiwa Loop NW. Other directions aren't so bad but NW is blanketed by noise. Still, this morning just before 7 a.m. PDT I was able to pull JOUB through the QRN and catch their english lessons with decent audibility. Strong het on 828 but no audio.

I do really enjoy reading all the TP/TA loggings being heard from Arizona, up the coast and into B.C. & Alberta. Wish I could participate. Always good to get Kaz's take on long distance reception and his rather startling domestic catches from the west coast.

Should anyone like to compare this years reception to that of 1976-1977, I have complete notes of my dx those years (basically Sep-Oct) from a wonderful San Francisco location using a Hammarlund HQ-140X & a Space Magnet-2 antenna. Just drop me a line & I'll send you an attachment with above details.

One of the cleanest signals ever - equal strength to 770 Khz.

Also easily audible on my Sony Prison.
