Hi, Gary ... different John with different Chinese recordings ... great to see you at Seaside on the last day in July. 

A few seconds of Chinese on an mp3 can't  compare with the 40-plus cassettes I recorded a couple of years ago of FM stations in Shanghai, Beijing and Xi'an. Lots of interesting commercials, surprisingly, as the market economy grows. 

I'm kidding of course ... not about having the recordings, but about translating them.

       Ruth DeBock would be happy to help you translate  Cantonese mp3 
  recordings.  With 99% of the Chinese TP mp3's turning  out to be Mandarin, she feels a 
  little left out.
   
       With her ham radio general license (KC7BAR) and  tolerance of my radio 
  fanaticism, I really can't complain at  all.  Believe it or not, she even likes 
  the Grayland Motel (because  it's cheap)  :>)
