[IRCA] TP for 20 Aug from Victoria, BC

In a small way, I have to agree with John B.'s analysis at Grayland...it was better than yesterday, but it sure wasn't Grayland. Still, except for raw signal strength, a fair bit of interest. Listened on and off from 1230 to 1300UT, and conditions were spotty. Audio would rise in level briefly, then not return.

pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
none

reasonable audios (though often battling w/splash or noise):
279 w/Russian
774 JJ
828 JJ

not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
189 //279
567 definite DU talk
612 DU talk at 1258UT
639 seemed to be island talk 1259UT
963 RR talk earlier
1566 at 1250UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise:
234 with big carrier
675 DU at 1256
702 messy, hard to pick out anything. Asia/DU mix?
774 at 1257, this was //612, so 3LO had replaced JOUB by then
864 Asian at 1253, but no clue who
945 //5030 for China; first logging this season
972 likely Korea, usual big carrier
1287 likely Japan
1377 //5030 for another first logging of the season; China again
1386 not //5030 or //774, so not sure who this could have been
1575 likely Thailand

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): (DU unless noted) 738 , 1035, 1053 (Asia), 1098

best wishes,

Nick
