Got up early this morning, and monitored the bands between 12:08 and
13:00. A modest Asia opening, followed by mostly DU. Nothing
spectacular, but in any case, here are my results:
LW Russians were there quite well heard (all with the ALA
100): 180, 189 and 279 alll at 7. 234 at a 6. All in //
529: Alaskan Beacon at a 7
567: late at a 6
612: Brisbane. Weak today at 6, but improved to 7 at 12:41
639: 6
666: 6
702: initially 6. 7 at 12:43 with 2BL Sydney. C&W music. Still a
6 to 7 at 13:00
738: 8 carrier level, but weak modulation. 7 at best. Tahiti presumed.
747: NHK2 at 7+ signal strength, early.
756: 7, presumed NZ
765: Very unusual male vocals.....???Maori?? Noted that PAL has
Radio Kahanguro, a Maori station in Hastings/Napier. Perhaps? Only
other possible is 5CC Port Lincoln, SA. John B's probably heard
this one. All at 12:16....faded quickly, and didn't return.
774: 8 with 2 cochannels. 3L0 seems dominant at 12:23
783: 5 or weak 6
792: 7+ with 4RN Brisbane at 12:24. Remains the strongest station
still there at 12:53.
828: 6 or 7 ?NHK2 at 12:28. Seems // to 774
1098: 7+ carrier. Improved to "8" level at 12:45. OC
1242: Late appearance at 12:46 with a 6. DU wire.
1314: ditto with 5 to 6
1332: 6 level at 12:33. Still a 6 at 12:48
1386: 6 level at 12:35. DU
1475: Malaysia with a 6 late
1503: 6 at 12:49
1512: 6. Still a 6 at 12:50
1566: 7 with Asia wire. Must be HLAZ, but modulation is again low.
1575: 6
Mostly faded out by 12:53.
