Re: [IRCA] [Amdx] The Blue Angels
While serving in Vietnam as a Radio-Relay-Carrier-Operator we used what we called, fly swatter antennas for communications between stations. Sometimes we had to bounce the signal off the mountains to pick up the other station. In the field in the so-called"Iron Triangle" area they had hundreds of the UH-1 Huey helicopter in operation. While in country had many rides on this aircraft as well as others. And even now at home i can hear the sound of the Huey at times, as they are still flying about. I highly recommend taking along a scanner or HT the next time you hit an airshow. You'll be glad you did.> > I also had the opportunity to ride in a UH-1 that was built in 1970. It had been used in Vietnam before being shipped back to the states. It was one of the most incredible rides I have ever taken! The doors were open and they did several moves that just about took my breath away.
