Nice catch. This is one that has eluded me and I've worked that part of the
dial quite alot since there are only a few stations there and things can be
heard well under dominants. I can phase WKZO out of the picture, but them
KXSP Omaha is very powerful in general although I've had a couple loggings
of KSUB underneath them on extremely good western nights. I have listened
for KQNT, but no luck.
KXLY 920 has been noted a few times although CFRY is usually brutal in
decent cx that way. Sunset skip can bring in the eastern WA 10 KW stations
on 700, 840 and 870 if you need them and at your distance and angle from the
superpests on those channels you'd have a good shot with a loop.
I believe that most of the far western state's lower freq (ir not super
crowded channels) 5 KWers that don't run unfavorable DA's to our directions
can be had at our midwestern QTH's in time. As an example, I once had KVI in
Seattle well u/WNAX although KNRS is more common. I've had good copy of KOGO
600 a few times etc etc.
In comparison of out QTH's, you're about 1256 miles from Spokane while I'm
1477 and on quite a few freqs for WA you're further from the pests or have a
more significant difference in angles towards them than do I. I think you
should do quite well to the WA area if cx are good, and DXers in central or
western MN could really shine.
