Re: [IRCA] Denied a QSL
Group:
For awhile when I was younger I was interested in QSLs and collected
a few. But I got discouraged when I reported reception of a certain station
in central New York (the Mohawk valley) which I heard immediately following
the WWJ sign-off (eat your heart out, Joe) on a Monday morning. The station
only stayed on five minutes, but was on RS, was very clear, and I was able
to include specific news items, exact ID reports, and references to local
spots. The CE refused to verify it was them, though he did repeat back to
me on the card the exact program details I had sent him.

Subject: [IRCA] Denied a QSL
This didn't happen recently, but while on the phone with Powell, the story
came to mind...
Back when I was living on my own, after high school, in Connecticut.. I was
tuning the AM dials and heard a station with very clear call letters, promos
and etc that very clearly identified the station. They were obviously
operating on day power/pattern.
I called up the station to inquire about how I could get one. I was told by
the then GM (I think it was the GM) that I would NOT get a QSL because
proving I heard them where they shouldn't be heard could possibly get them
in trouble"
Sincerely,
